How to choose a laundry dryer?

Do you not like ironing clothes? Time to think about a new helper - a laundry dryer. Let's agree on the terms right away because people usually mix two different devices.

A laundry dryer is a device that dries clothes that have already been washed.

A washing machine with a drying function is a device that does both washing and drying.

Thus, the clothes dryer does not wash clothes, although it looks almost identical to a washing machine - the same dimensions, very similar loading and handling. So how do you choose that dryer to suit your needs?

You should ask yourself three questions:
1. How many clothes need to be dried?
2. What clothes are most often dried
3. Where will the dryer stand?

Everything else is a small trifle, though one cannot really call it insignificant.

The key is kilograms

How much laundry should I dry immediately after washing? For fun, grab a bag and place it on the bathroom scales. On average, laundry weighs about 7-9 kilograms. Of course, they must already be drilled, as they will double their weight when soaked.

Always pay attention to the kilos the dryer can take at a time. 9 is better than 10, right?

Next to those pounds, one function of the dryer helps a lot. Modern dryers themselves weigh how much laundry they have received and determine the time to dry them. So you never know whether you will be drying your laundry for 30 or 50 minutes.

It is also very important to read the recommended laundry weights table, which says that cotton can be washed in 9 kilograms, while sensitive laundry should not exceed 2 kilograms ...

Do you really need 15 programs?

Usually, for a family of 4-5 people, the basic 5 programs are enough, so dryers with 15 should be surprising. Keep in mind that the more features you have, the higher the cost, so you should take a good look at which features you really need.

Drying programs have a lot to do with fabric composition because different fabrics are dried differently. This would require careful selection of fabrics before drying. It is recommended to dry cotton fabrics separately from wool or synthetic. There are at least several programs for washing cotton fabrics. Then there are separate programs for woolen fabrics, also blended, where natural materials are blended with synthetic. Fully synthetic fabrics also have one or more drying programs.
Some models have special programs for large fabrics, such as bedding. Although it is a simple cotton, its size prevents the drum from rotating freely. Sock and 2x2 meter blanket cover are dried differently.

Additional Features

Dried laundry usually needs ironing. They are not completely dry, even though pulled out hot enough. As a result, modern dryers have a number of functions that prevent laundry from creasing. Such laundry does not require additional ironing or steaming. And the function of this function is quite simple. When the laundry is dried in a rotating drum, it cannot stop moving until it is removed. As a result, the drum starts to spin to prevent the laundry from sticking together for at least 5-10 minutes. This prevents them from wrinkling.

The steam function in the dryer can also be quite useful. Interestingly, you don't even need to wash your clothes or bedding. Just put it in the dryer and run the steam refresh function. It lasts for a few minutes but is very effective. Vapor destroys bad odors and microorganisms in clothing and flattens them. Steam also dissolves the remaining detergents, which is very necessary for people suffering from various allergies.

Start delay is one of the most commonly used functions. You put on the laundry in the evening, set it aside for 6-7 hours and enjoy warm, freshly dried and renewed laundry in the morning. Washing machines have functions that all users are accustomed to. Why is this function relevant to the dryer? The washer dryer works quite noisily. Which means you won't be able to fall asleep when drying at night. This is not only true for families with young children. Just that drum rotation sound is not very pleasant.

Postponement of the start helps to solve this problem.

Automatic moisture recognition. Some dryers have a built-in special sensor that instantly measures the moisture level of your laundry. Like with kilograms when the laundry is weighed. This sensor is important because the dryer can immediately adjust the drying programs and their duration. If the laundry is dripping and you turn on the 30 minute drying function, it is unlikely that they will dry out within that time. Automatic moisture recognition helps you estimate how long it will actually take to dry your laundry.

A self-cleaning capacitor is practically a necessity. The dryer evaporates a lot of water from the laundry. Where does that water disappear? There are three possible paths:

1. The water is immediately drained into the sewer using a special drain hose (this requires connection to the sewer)
2. After each drying, you pour the water by opening a special container at the bottom of the dryer or near the door.
3. You do nothing because the water is simply evaporated by a self-cleaning condenser.

With the latter feature, you never get a headache about where the water disappears. It just evaporates.

Phone control is an interesting feature, but not very popular yet. It works by tapping on a phone that has an NFC connection. In this way, the devices are paired and you can see certain readings on the phone as well as operate the device remotely. Sometimes it's handy, but most often it's just a nice play - all the functions can be conveniently rotated with a knob or buttons on the LED screen.

Building

The dryer is a pretty cumbersome technique. It is large and massive and vibrates against the rotating drum. This is why fixing and building are very important.
Most often the dryer has height adjustable feet. However, manufacturers have also noticed the need to place dryers on the washing machine or hang them on the wall. As a result, some models have some accessories at once that allow the dryer to be placed on the washer and properly secured with one another.

The next step is to build within 5-10 cm of the wall, especially for models with a drain hose.

Not so deep dryers are appearing to save space. This also contributes to the popularity of dryers.

Needless to say, you choose A + and higher energy class devices - A ++ and even A +++. This will save you electricity.

Good luck with your new dryer online! It's simpler and cheaper.
