The logic is simple - two people have enough for a pack of dumplings in the fridge and in the freezer, a couple of ice buckets and ice cream for drinks. When it comes to having kids in your family, you start thinking about organic products and saving food. The best way to save food is to freeze it, so suddenly the three shelves in the fridge are no longer enough.

Types of freezers 

The operating principle of freezers is simple - a freon compressor cools the inside of the freezer to 20-25 degrees Celsius and maintains that temperature. No more features there. It is important for every family to choose the right freezer according to its type.
If you live in a private house and have a pantry or basement, consider a freezer box. You are opened from above, like a chest and stuffed food inside. It has no shelves, just a few bags for some products that should always be at hand.
If you are just planning on kitchen furniture and are considering buying household appliances, consider adding a built-in freezer next to the built-in refrigerator. It often comes in standard sizes, so it also fits under the counter next to your dishwasher or oven.
A simple built-in freezer is reminiscent of a fridge. You just need to adjust the colors so that your existing fridge does not look very different from the new freezer. You can build one in the basement, in the garage or in the kitchen. It is a versatile device that will come in handy at home.
Freezers can be as tall as refrigerators, so you can place them side by side and look like a two-door refrigerator. That’s right if you have enough space because it’s a big and wide device.

Freezer capacity

Freezer-boxes are still the largest. Their capacity is 300-400 liters. The larger ones are considered professional and hardly needed at home so much.

Depending on the power, they consume about 150-250 KW / h per year. This is not a very big expense (11 cents a kilowatt-hour of electricity will cost you between € 16.5 and € 27.5 per year. Temperature maintenance

Yes, the freezer compressor is buzzing. This is not a very pleasant sound that can interfere with a bedroom near the kitchen. Almost all specifications refer to decibels. Look for the one that least emits them. Such will be quiet enough. By the way, the sound is not continuous only when the compressor starts. If you close the freezer door fairly quickly, it will take a long time to "work", making fewer sounds.
